Sunday's Post Is Weird

No words for this video

"Feeling like P.Roy" is our favorite line.

Evgeni Malkin suffered a torn MCL and ACL during Friday's tilt against the Buffalo Sabres. The play didn't look that bad but apparently it was.

There is no word whether he will need surgery or the decision on what is going to happen to him.

And to top it all off, there's a report now that Sidney Crosby won't be back with the Penguins until March. As Pens fans, this hurts.

Peter Forsberg is back.

He made it official by signing with the Colorado Avalanche.

We know at least five people who are super-excited about the news.

The Anaheim Ducks signed Ray Emery to a two-way deal.

We were surprised as well but when you think about it, the Ducks really only have Hiller so it makes sense.

And Phil Kessel, this is how you do it

He had some extensive damage control after saying that he and Ron Wilson do not communicate.

Silver Fox: Win A Date With An Oldster #13

This Silver Fox date was written up for us by Grace and we think that she picked the perfect man and it's a great date.

-&-

Name
Owen Nolan – he’s not even 40 yet, but he’s a premature greyer, so he qualifies for a Silver Fox.

Current Position
Playing for the ZSC Lions in Zurich, Switzerland (could there more any more advertising on his uniform?)

Former Position
Right Wing for the Minnesota Wild

Why He’s Amazing
Owen was my first legit hockey crush. Aside from having those beautiful Irish eyes and smile to melt your heart, he had some pretty good hockey moments.
1990 #1 draft pick

1997 World Championship Gold
2002 Olympics Gold
5 All Star Appearances, the most significant being the ‘97 ASG, when he called his own shot and had a hat trick to boot. *swoon*

In addition, Owen is no sissy. His willingness to drop the gloves, even when outmatched, is admirable.

Why He’s (Still) Sexy as Hell
The man could be serving burgers at one of his restaurants in San Jose, to me he will always be sexy.

What You Would Do on a Date
On a date with Owen, it is all things Irish, flying over to the motherland. The date begins with a game of hide and seek at the Blarney Castle. He holds you as you kiss the big stone.

Later, you head to a local pub and kick back some pints Guinness. After one to many, you both get on stage for a rousing edition of “Mary Mac.”

Double Date: Checking Centers

There's nothing sexier than a good penalty kill. And as a coach, who do you depend on the most when a faceoff is the most important play?

The checking-line center.

Oftentimes, checking centers aren't that attractive. They're mostly a Mancrush but we researched and found two centers who are quite attractive yet also really good on the penalty kill.

-&-

Door #1

Who: Craig Adams

Date: we don't need no date with this face

OR

Door #2

Who: Ryan Kesler

Date: unf, what's that? You wanted me to do something with him that did not involve just taking off those boxer-briefs

Go ahead and try to pick one...we dare you.

Henrik Lundqvist Goes To The Dark Side

We all have to give thanks to Jackie for drudging up this clip of Henrik cavorting with JBiebs at a Knicks game.

True story: When we opened the email, our initial reaction was "SHUT THE F***ING DOOR!!!" Then it was complete and utter confusion over why this happened.

Which hockey gods hate us so much that they would have these two "hanging out" together? Why? Why?

And we can only imagine the awful, awful stories that will come out of this "friendship"...

-&-

So in case you live under a rock, here's video of Brent Johnson ko-ing Rick DiPietro.

It was our first NHL goalie fight live. We love that it was Brent Johnson who popped that cherry for us.

-&-

News & Notes:

- Ruslan Fedotenko will be out for at least three weeks after having his appendix removed.

- The Tampa Bay Lightning put Mike Smith on waivers. My how times have changed...

- Andy McDonald is back, bitches. St. Louis is getting healthy, just sayin'.

- Zack Stortini cleared waivers for the Oilers and could be sent to their farm team.

- This video is from NHL.com and it explains why Dallas could win the Cup

- Evgeni Malkin makes his return on Friday just as the Penguins lose Mark Letestu for four-to-six weeks after having knee surgery.

- After suffering another concussion, Marc Savard will undergo more tests on Friday to see where he is at and if he can play again this season.

- Rivalry between Taylor Hall and Drew Doughty? Hall says no but we think he's being coy with us.

- And if you haven't seen this, do yourself a favor and watch it.

Top Ten: Reasons Why Jonny Toews Is Going To Implode Any Day Now

After watching the All Star Weekend, we have a new appreciation for the patience that Jonathan Toews's teammates have with his temper and competitiveness.

We also have a new appreciation for the delicate balance in the Blackhawks locker room. There has to be a Patrick Kane to balance out a Toews.

We've been reading other blogs after the games and a lot of them commented and said that Toews was acting childish and throwing temper tantrums. Which is consistent with the comments here it seems.

We don't see his behavior as anything but being ultra-competitive and not knowing what it is to fail at anything. At least Sidney Crosby knows how to hide it well.

So we compiled a Top Ten of reasons why Jonny Toews is going to suddenly implode and just kill everyone in the Hawks locker room.

Top Ten: Reasons Why Jonny Toews Is Going To Implode Any Day Now

10. Children, anywhere near him at all

That face...it's not like the girl is even near him but you would think she has cooties with how he's acting.

09. Patrick Kane

He may kill him one day.

08. He doesn't know how to smile, like his face forgot how to do it

Maybe a little one? Just a tiny smile? No? Fine then.

07. How he treats his teammates...especially Pat Kane

Hates him. Kaner better watch his back, especially after the All Star Weekend.

06. His inability to consider marriage or even for Pat to get married

Stunned into almost silence.

05. Doesn't know what having fun means

You know fun, when you can laugh and play? Oh, you don't know what either of those are, do you?

04. He cannot fail at anything and when he does...

I DEMAND A RE-DO!

03. Even when he's excited, he's super-serious about it

Seriously? It's your 100th goal in the NHL, shouldn't you be a little more excited? At least give us a smile?

02. The way he almost strangled and/or prison shanked Patrick Sharp during the Super Skills Accuracy competition

Both Patricks are in danger now.

01. PKane and everything that he does

He loves him but when they win the Cup again, look for Kaner to end up dead in an alleyway.

Things To Ponder: News And Notes

- Alex Edler from the Vancouver Canucks will be having surgery on his back and is out indefinitely.

- The Capitals re-signed Alex Semin to a one-year contract extension which means that it's another year of wiping black marks off the glass behind the opposing net.

- Netcrashing is here with another question and this time it's about the teams that are on the playoff bubble and which ones we think are going to make it and which ones we think are not.

- One of the prettiest goals scored in Sunday's All Star Game

- The Sabres have finally found a buyer. That's good news for Sabres fans, duh.

- Is this the year that Tomas Kaberle is finally traded? We shall see.

- Bob McKenzie goes through all of the players in the Western Conference that could and/or should be traded.
