Both the Capitals and the Islanders have been losing a lot lately and it is apparently affecting everyone.
John Tavares got into it with Alexander Burmistrov. It is the first NHL fight for both of them.
Then Alex Ovechkin fought for the second time in his career. This is Brandon Dubinsky's like fortieth fight and he still looks awful.
And speaking of the Rangers, we all know how dashingly handsome they are but Henrik Lundqvist and Sean Avery both made Forbes best-dressed athlete list.
Good for them.
Suspensions/Fines:
- Alex Semin was fined for a crosscheck he gave to John-Michael Liles.
- Jody Shelley was suspended for his hit on Adam McQuaide
The Vancouver Canucks retired Markus Naslund's #19. It was a nice ceremony and we always like him so it was a fitting tribute.
Marco Sturm was traded to the Los Angeles Kings for future considerations and cap room. That's it.
