- Jerome Iginla withdrew from the All Star Game for personal reasons. Article.

- We can be the bigger (wo)man and say that naming Daniel Briere as Jerome Iginla's replacement was the right decision. He deserves it.

- Mike Cammalleri will be out with a separated shoulder and Max Pacioretty will play through bruised ribs. The Habs are really banged up right now.

- This comes to us from Grace...Jonny Toews and Mike Richards are friends. It's not that we don't like Mikey, it's that we don't like his team. It's a shame really cause we really like how he plays. It's very similar to how Toews does...

- The events for the SuperSkills have been named. We are pumped! The shootout competition will probably be our favorite. There better be some good shit or we will be really mad.

- St. Louis Blues defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo was hit in the face with a puck and he will be out for at least two weeks. This is the second time in two games that he was struck in the face with a puck. Now that's bad luck.

- Speaking of injuries, the New York Rangers are having their share of bad luck. Brandon Dubinsky will miss time with a stress fracture in his leg and Ruslan Fedotenko is out with a shoulder sprain.

- Brendan Shanahan smashed the controversy about Sid protesting the All Star Game. He said that Sid called him and said that he will be playing in the ASG if he is healthy. We're totally gonna find it funny when he doesn't.

- The Avalanche got a big blow yesterday when they found out that Tomas Fleischmann will be out for the rest of the season with blood clots in his lungs. Link.

- But all hope may not be lost for the Avs. Supposedly, Peter Forsberg will be practicing with the team on Saturday. Interesting....

- Dean Lombardi, the LA Kings GM, was fined $50,000 for his comments following the 2-0 loss the Kings suffered at the hands of the Phoenix Coyotes. He was pissed that a goal was allowed that he didn't believe was a good goal and suggested that Mike Murphy was at the heart of this vast conspiracy to get him the GM position in LA.
