Colorado Avalanche
Man, the Colorado Avalanche.
Slowly ripping our hearts out one season at a time. The fact that they had the second-overall pick in 2011, not from a trade, just says it all.
We love the Avalanche. They're like a team of misfits that you just can't help but cheer on every game.
The team is one that doesn't know how to quit and will never stop just because they're behind.
That's the kind of team we love.
The 2011-2012 season will be an interesting one.
Adam Foote retired at the end of the regular season. There was the huge trade that landed them Erik Johnson.
Then the rash of injuries took over, which included Matt Duchene and Paul Stastny. Then there was the trade for Semyon Varlamov.
These things are a positive if you look at them in the right light. There's an opportunity for another, younger captain. And Varlamov could be the goaltender that they've been looking for.
There are a lot of questions heading into this season but we have faith in the boys in Denver to get things done and have a successful season.

We were blogging at our grandma's house and asked her to rate the Avalanche based on how many she thought were good-looking. She gave us an 8 because
"Oh, I really like that Erik Johnson fellow. He seems like a wholesome boy. And #9, he was at the All Star game, I remember him. They all seem so attractive. If I had to rate on a scale then I would have to say an eight because they're all good-looking."
Thanks, Grandma. She always knows the right answer for everything in life.
