- Craig Hartsburg stepped down from being the Everett Silvertips coach because he is interested in pursuing another chance at an NHL job.

- Nearly the next day, Hartsburg was hired as the Calgary Flames new associate coach.


- Speaking of coaching changes, the Carolina Hurricanes have added Rod Brind'Amour and Dave Lewis as assistant coaches.


- In case you were wondering, Mark Messier finally let loose with his leadership finalists: Zdeno Chara, Nick Lidstrom and Shane Doan.


- The Phoenix Coyotes signed Jason LaBarbera to a two-year contract extension, effectively making Ilya Bryzgalov expendable.


- And more of the same: Bryzgalov's rights were traded to the Philadelphia Flyers for Matt Clackson, 2012 third-round pick and a conditional.


- Daniel Aldredsson is getting back surgery and should be out for 4-8 weeks.


- General Managers are unhappy with the current rulings on headshots and some of them are calling for a broader definition for Rule 48.


- The Binghampton Senators won the Calder Cup against the Houston Aeros in six games. It was the first championship for the team.


- The Pittsburgh Penguins have added Bill Guerin to the team as a player development coach. Or resident comedian to keep Sidney Crosby happy, which ever comes first.


Stanley Cup Finals news:

- Claude Julien is not a Maxim Lapierre fan. At all.

- And neither is Krys Barch from the Dallas Stars. He is not impressed with the way that Lapierre and Burrows play and had some strong words.

- After the hit heard round the world, Nathan Horton will be out for the remainder of the play offs.


- And Aaron Rome was suspended for four games, basically the rest of the play offs as well. The Canucks were not happy with that decision at all.
